Bring me those words that soared across oceans and continents
Those that saw deep in my heart with compassion and grace
Let the dove and the raven fly as dragons with wings unfurled
And let those words be cleansing fire and the soft fall of spring rain

Let them lift as prayer those doleful spirits that seek to erase
Mind and body in fretful waste. Whisper and scream them to me
And with me, in tones only I can hear. Let them trickle as water to
The waiting world in gentle droplets of redemptive mercy

Let wingtips touch and leave trails of fire across this open sky
Where black meets white meets flaming wyrm in the vast blue
A startling mesh of mind and feather, of coo and caw, and word well writ
Soaring silent over worlds far below
