Fragment 0.7

There can be no other, no substitute or alternate
not in this life or another
My bed will remain empty, though yours will be shared
my smile remain missing, though yours will shine
my heart remain broken, though yours will love
my dreams remain illusion, though yours may be lived
my eyes remain weeping, though yours be long dry
There can be no other, no proxy or surrogate
not in weeks or months or years
I remain in counterfeit existence, unmoving
and detached from all except longing
seeking respite for this longing that I
will never find
